Users Served: Headache sufferers, the physicians and allied healthcare providers who treat them and the public.

The Organization: The National Headache Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1970. NHF is dedicated to three major goals:

  1. serving as an information resource to headache sufferers, the physicians and allied healthcare providers who treat them and the public;
  2. supporting headache research; and
  3. providing educational and informational resources and advocating for the understanding of headache as a legitimate neurobiological disease.

NHF disseminates free information on headache causes and treatments and funds research and sponsors public and professional education seminars nationwide.

Information Services: To request information and a complimentary copy of Head Wise, our quarterly magazine, send a self-addressed, business-letter sized envelope with three first-class stamps affixed. Mention headache type or briefly describe symptoms if undiagnosed. A state list of NHF physician members is available on request.

The NHF offers its members quarterly issues of our magazine, Head Wise, and our monthly e-newsletter, NHF News to Know, in your e-mail box, for an annual fee of $20.00 to receive a printed copy through the U.S. mail.
