1. Why should I register to use Chart Your Course to Relief?

The Chart Your Course to Relief tool asks you a series of questions and, based on your answers, guides you toward resources that are relevant to your specific needs. By registering, the tool will save your information for you to view or change it as your headache-related needs change. Also, as updates are made and new resources are available, your backpack of resources will be conveniently and automatically updated .

2. Will my email address be given to others when I register to use the tool? I don’t want to get junk emails.

Your email address will allow your data (answers to your questions, and resources provided for those answers) to be stored at this site so you don’t have to maintain it. Your email address will not be shared or sold outside of the National Headache Foundation. You may receive one email 30-60 days after registration simply asking if you found the tool helpful and if you would like to make any suggestions for changes to the tool. If you do not want to receive additional emails, you will have an option to decline all contact via email. Registration for the Chart Your Course to Relief tool does not automatically register you to receive email updates from the NHF. 3. What kind of help can I expect to get from the Chart Your Course to Relief tool?

The help and resources you receive from Chart Your Course to Relief will depend on your responses to the questions. Here are some examples:

  • Those who indicate they can’t afford headache care are offered tips on how to have a financial discussion with their healthcare provider, information on alternative therapies, as well as information on programs available for people who need prescription medication but can’t afford it.
  • For people who say they have difficulty discussing their headaches, they are offered tips for understanding and communicating their symptoms and the impact headache is having on their lives.
  • If users say their headaches are not that big of a deal and they don’t need to see a healthcare provider, they are given a link to a quick test to help them see how headaches are impacting their life. This test will help users make an educated decision about whether to see a healthcare provider.

It is a source of help to sufferers’ families, physicians who treat headache sufferers, allied healthcare professionals and to the public. The leaders of the organization are world-renowned experts in the field who have pulled together many easy-to-use tools and resources like this one to help people better understand headaches and options for headache care.
