You can have a
very happy social life, even with chronic headaches. Once
you learn how to take control and avoid triggers, you'll probably
reduce or prevent some of your headaches, especially tension-type.
And, as you look around, you will discover that, if it isn't
headaches, many of your friends are learning to deal with
other things. You and they can still have fun.
You will probably
miss some parties or events you wanted to attend. And if,
because of your chronic headaches, you start to feel different
from other kids, share your concerns with your doctor or headache
specialist or talk to a counselor. There's
so much to do and achieve in life, and you just have to find
what works for you.
You are not alone.
Remember that there are other kids just like you who have
chronic headaches, and there are many professionals who can
and want to help you. You can still have fun, enjoy a social
life, participate in lots of different activities, and do
well in school.
