MigraSpray

Type:
Medication

MigraSpray, an herbal sublingual spray being marketed for the treatment of migraine, has not undergone any of the rigorous testing that is required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for almost all medicines.

MigraSpray is considered a supplement. The Dietary Supplement, Health and Education Action (DSHEA) of 1994 requires no proof of efficacy, no proof of safety and sets no standards for quality control for products labeled as supplements.

Studies for prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications have to demonstrate that the products are both effective and safe for a particular use before the FDA approves them and allows them to be marketed. The studies for this product do not meet the standards required of prescription and OTC medications.

There are certain risks that have been reported with other "natural" products. It is best to consult your healthcare provider before taking any vitamins, dietary supplements, herbal or natural products or OTC medications as some of these may interfere with medications you are already taking.
