Hypnosis is a type of treatment in which the therapist puts the patient in a altered level of conscious state. The objective manifestations of the mind become inactive, enabling the patient to relax and forget his/her head pain. Patients can’t be made to do things they are morally against.

Hypnosis has not been found to be an effective method of therapy for patients with cluster headache problems although patients with other chronic pain states may benefit.
